My Reflections on CAS Project

June 11, 2009

We started our CAS project today, we do the setting up of AR, AP customers and vendors information, as well as the setups for AR, AP and GL.
I am incharge of entering the vendors informations and setting up their terms.
I also did up the vendor groups, classifying them into local vendors and other vendors.

June 12, 2009

We continue our CAS Project today, we start doing AR , AP and GL opening balances.
Since the job is allocated to other members to do, i help monitor while they do the opening balances to prevent any errors. We also discuss the double entries for our GL transactions.

June 16, 2009

Today we record down our double entires in the GL batch list. We make sure we sort our transactions relating to AR and AP so that we will not record the same entries twice.

July 1, 2009

Today we do our AR and AP invoices, receipts and payment.
I am suppose to do payment batch list. When im done with it, i help monitor my group members making sure they are on right path and make no errors for example; making sure credit note is used for purchase/sales returns batch list.

Today we will be doing recurring & adjustment entries. This is the difficult part as we struggled to confirm that our entries are correct(i suppose). We also take turns to record down the GL data entry form since is soooo long (i swear it is long).

Today we will not be doing accpac but we discuss part 1 of CAS project which is the theory. It is bored as we sit around cracking our brains and nothing comes to mind on how to do the questions.

July 13, 2009

Today we come to edit what we have done because from peers of other groups made us confirm our errors and we have to edit them.
We also discuss about void cheque before we end for the day.

July 15, 2009

Today, finally we come to the end of the project. We do void cheque, post all batches and we print out all the reports. We felt relieved since our project is almost done and the load of burden is lighter. We are left with editing of the CAS theory qns and we are sure to submit the project in time.
